Shakuhachi Peace. Mixed media:  acrylic, rice paper, marker on canvas, 18 x 24 inches. This is the third version of the Japanese flute player that inspired me. After experiencing his playing one evening, I contacted him since images of this kept floating in my head. We met so that I could sketch and photograph him for this series. I had no idea that I would be doing three works: Shakuhachi (Japanese Flute), Shakuhachi Blue, and now this work. Although I kept the same image for each work, I discovered each had a different challenge.
