This painting is the beginning of a series I  might be doing based upon the Phoenix although this theme is not evident in this work. A very old cherry tree which I call "Granny" keeps on blossoming in the spring. Recently I discovered that she is blooming because a younger tree is growing inside!!! Where's the Phoenix now during these horrible political times?
