Ghost Pipe 2. Mixed media (acrylic, watercolor, pen) on paper, 14 x 11 inches unframed. When walking deep in woods, I occasionally find "Indian Pipe" now referred more as Ghost Pipe. My painting is from a trail in Williamstown, Mass. When I find them, lately, I've been photographing them. I found this information about them on FaceBook by David Attenborough: 

This fascinating plant (Monotropa uniflora) is definitely one of nature’s weird wonders. Because it has no chlorophyll and doesn’t depend on photosynthesis, this ghostly white plant is able to grow in the darkest of forests.
